(Barbuto) McCormick and the loving father of Darlene and her husband Brian Power of Melrose; Joseph F. McCormick of Melrose; Sandra and her husband Robert Pothier of Tewksbury; and Frank II and his wife Rosanna of Peabody. Lovingly known as “Ol Dadil” Frank was very proud of his eight grandchildren; Elizabeth, Frankie III, Joseph Jr., Alicia, Courtney, Jillian, Robert and Janelle. He was also the dedicated Uncle of 56 nieces and nephews and many more grand nieces and nephews. He was the brother of John “Jack” McCormick and his wife Louise of East Boston, Pauline and her husband Jackie of Everett, Betty Carr (special cousin) and the late James, Geraldine, Dorothy, Mary, “Jim,” Paul, Gerald and Donald. Frank was an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, a member of the National Guard and the son of two wonderful parents from Newfoundland Canada. Frank always proclaimed his heritage as a proud “Newfoundlander.” The love of his life was his wife Elaine, his four children, eight grandchildren and many friends who all called him “Ol’ Dadil.” Frank had the gift of gab, a love of country music, dancing to happy music and was a teacher of sorts (especially when it came to life lessons, carpentry, plumbing, mechanics and waterskiing). He taught hundreds of people to waterski on Lake Attash and his favorite place on earth “Rock Haven Lake in Maine.” Although he was a dedicated bus driver and retired trackman for the MBTA for 38 years, Frank was a carpenter at heart. He had a love of fixing things and repaired many cars, homes and hearts with his loving spirit. Frank exemplified “love” each day through his random acts of kindness.
